Over the Hill launches on October 14, 2026 on Steam, for Windows PC. Funselektor announced the date on August 10, 2026, and the Steam store page shows the same date. The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions come later: Funselektor says the console ports will follow in 2027, without a specific day yet.
The game is not out yet, and there are no pre-orders. You can wishlist it on Steam, and the Xbox and PlayStation stores already have pages for it.

Only the Steam date is fixed. For consoles, the only official timing is the year, and each platform is at a different stage of store setup.

What launches on October 14
The release date announcement says the Steam version launches with several areas in the Canada and Algeria regions, and that each new area holds more content and surprises than the demo. The soundtrack arrives alongside the game as separate DLC, and the price announcement adds a Supporter Pack and a bundle that combines the game, the soundtrack and the pack.
Launch time on the day
Funselektor has not announced the exact hour the game unlocks on October 14. Steam releases go live at a time the developer sets, so check the Steam page or the Funselektor Discord on the day. In the weeks before launch the team is hosting weekly Q&A streams on Wednesdays, starting September 16, where timing questions are likely to come up.
No pre-orders, but a launch discount
Funselektor’s price announcement says there won’t be any pre-orders. Instead, the game will cost $24.99 USD on Steam with a launch discount and regional pricing. Adding it to your Steam wishlist is the way to get notified when it goes on sale.
How the date was reached
Funselektor revealed Over the Hill in January 2025, and coverage at the time, such as Car Throttle’s, expected it later in 2025. The team then ran playtests and a Steam Next Fest demo in June 2026 before confirming October 14 in a live stream on August 10, 2026. The release post credits playtests, Next Fest and player suggestions over the past year with sharpening the final game.
Console timing: what is and is not known
The console versions are ports that follow the PC release in 2027. Funselektor has confirmed cross-play but has not announced console prices, dates or editions. The Xbox listing already shows features such as Xbox Play Anywhere and cross-platform co-op, and the PlayStation Store page lists four online players and Remote Play.
