Over the Hill comes to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, after the PC launch. Original Switch, PS4 and mobile versions are not announced.

Three consoles in 2027, no mobile version yet

Over the Hill is coming to three consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Funselektor says these console ports will follow in 2027, after the Steam version launches on PC on October 14, 2026. Cross-play is confirmed.

The original Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One are not on the announced platform list, and a mobile version is not confirmed: the official FAQ says it is too early to confirm mobile. No VR version is planned.

Which platforms are confirmed

The official website shows Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 alongside Steam, and the press kit lists the same four platforms. The release date announcement sets the console timing to 2027.

Nintendo Switch 2

Switch 2 is the only Nintendo platform announced. The official website shows a Switch 2 badge but, unlike the Xbox and PlayStation buttons, it does not link to a store page yet, so there is no Nintendo listing to wishlist at the time of writing. The original Switch is not mentioned anywhere in the official material.

Funselektor has not shared Switch 2 performance targets, a price or a date beyond 2027.

PlayStation and Xbox at a glance

Both have store pages already. The PlayStation Store concept page is marked coming soon and lists four online players and Remote Play. The Microsoft Store listing shows online co-op for two to four players, Xbox cross-platform co-op, Optimized for Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox Play Anywhere label. Is there a mobile version?

Not yet. The FAQ confirms Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 and says it is too early to confirm mobile. Any Over the Hill app you find for Android or iPhone today is not an official Funselektor release, because no mobile version has been announced.

Cross-play and the 2027 ports

Cross-play is confirmed in the FAQ, so console players should be able to join PC friends once the ports arrive in 2027. How accounts or friend lists will connect across platforms has not been explained yet.

What is still unknown

None of the following has an official answer yet. Treat claims about them as rumours until Funselektor or a platform store confirms them.

  • Exact console release dates
  • Console prices (the $24.99 price is for Steam)
  • Whether the three console versions launch together
  • Performance modes on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Switch 2
  • Subscription availability, such as Game Pass or PlayStation Plus
