Windows 10, a GTX 1070-class GPU and 8 GB RAM
Over the Hill is a Windows PC game on Steam, launching October 14, 2026. The minimum requirements on Steam are a 64-bit Windows 10 system with an Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD Vega 56, DirectX 11, a broadband internet connection and 4 GB of storage, tested at 1080p. No recommended specs are listed yet.
Mac is not planned for the initial release. There is no native Linux version, but Funselektor says it is committed to making the game run smoothly on Steam Deck through Proton.

These are the only specs Funselektor has published. The recommended section on Steam only repeats the 64-bit requirement, so there is no official target yet for higher resolutions or frame rates.

Graphics options seen in the demo
PCGamingWiki, a community wiki, recorded the PC options from the June 2026 demo. Treat these as community evidence from a pre-release build that may change.

Steam Deck and Linux
The official FAQ says a native Linux version is not planned, but that Funselektor is committed to making Over the Hill run smoothly on the Steam Deck via Proton. The Steam page’s full controller support and gamepad recommendation suit the Deck’s built-in controls.
Is Over the Hill on Mac?
Not at launch. The FAQ says Mac support is not planned for the initial release, though Funselektor may consider it in the future, and the Steam listing has Windows as its only platform. That differs from art of rally, which does list macOS on Steam, so a later Mac version is possible but unannounced.
Controllers, keyboard and racing wheels
Steam lists full controller support, DualShock and DualSense support, and marks the game as gamepad recommended. Keyboard play is supported too: the FAQ says Funselektor is prioritising gamepad and keyboard, which is why racing wheels with force feedback are not planned for the initial release.
Other PC stores
Steam is the only confirmed PC store for now; the FAQ says Funselektor is considering GOG and Epic. The Microsoft Store listing for the Xbox version also lists PC and shows an Xbox Play Anywhere label, but Funselektor has not explained how that will work.

Can a laptop run Over the Hill?
Compare it with the minimum specs: a GTX 1070 or Vega 56-class GPU, an i5-7400 or Ryzen 5 2600 and 8 GB of RAM at 1080p. Most integrated graphics fall below that bar.
How much storage does it need?
Steam lists 4 GB of available space. PCGamingWiki recorded 2 GB for the demo, but the 4 GB figure is the official requirement for the full game.
Does Over the Hill need an internet connection?
Steam lists a broadband connection in the minimum requirements. During the demo, a hotfix stopped single player freezing when the game was launched without internet, which suggests offline solo play is intended, but Funselektor has not stated an official offline policy.
